had a craving for fish head curry. met my friend and he recommended this fish head curry stall at Quality Road i think. haha. the curry was niceeeee. just the right amount of coconut but it was abit salty. i guess it would taste just right when you eat it with rice. fish meat was smooth and tender. haha. overall: worth eating again! a little pricey though. $16 i think. deep fried pork was delicious too but a little on the oily side. haha. stir-fried beansprouts were the best! i loveeee 'em so muchhhhh. reminded me of home-cooked beansprouts with salted fish. shall ask my mum/grandma to cook it someday. wahahaha. anyway, sitting in a pick-up was such a coOl experience!
if you are looking for a place to chill/listen to chinese music/even retrieve tips to singing well, Music Dreamers Live! Cafe is the place to go. it is a little expensive (it was, to me, at least). Mon-Thurs $9.80++

i guess you are paying for the music. the singers are really good. instrumentalists are proooo. the performers are humourous and sociable as well. haha. the audience get to pick songs for them to sing and dedicate them. ambience-wise, nothing beats having a live band. the stage is small so it can only accomodate few singers and an instrumentalist. drum set is a no-no. haha. the loud music that resonates from it will kill everyone's ear drums. haha. oh ya, it would be better if you go in small groups, i.e 2-4 people.
overall: good place to chill! but if you are the type who can't sit still for hours/don't like Mandopop/have to talk (non-stop + loudly), not the place for you. =X
had the urge to go kbox-ing after chilling at the cafe. haha. unfortunately, we did not. my friend was supposed to go Zouk/MoS but there were alot of people there. i did not want to go home that early too (since it was eve of public hol) so we went to check out DXO instead. was my first time there and my impression of it before i went in was not very good. but i didn't expect it to be THAT bad. music sucks. am not a fan of techno music. is techno even music? =X oops. live band? good effort but nah, no thanks. drinks? nah no good. not that i'm a fan of clubbing dancing, but the lack of people on the dancefloor failed to create the "happening" mood. so overall: waste of money.
