\\ fun-filled day.
wa. super tired. slept at 2am yesterday. *yawns*
didn't work yesterday. junie and i were invited to NUH to celebrate Volunteers' Appreciation Day. we didn't make it in time for the games session. (we weren't keen on games. =x) it was ending by the time we got there. the people there were so enthusiastic in playing games! i remembered that there was this woman; she was always the first one to rush up the stage to pass collected items to the emcee for inspection. haha. so i think you can guess which group of people won. lala~ after that, there was an award presentation. mainly to organisations who had helped NUH and volunteers who had completed 100 hours of community service to the hospital. we watched a short video clip too. you know, the hospital actually has volunteers who go around playing music to the patients. the "Music Lover" (an uncle) does not seem keen on the music though. he had his hands on his face and he was peering through his fingers. haha. maybe it's his way of appreciating music. =x the 5 angels (medical social workers) sang a song. the title's "point of light". the lyrics are very meaningful and it really reflects the qualities a volunteer should have. hmm. i think it should be applied to everyone in the world. won't the world be a better place this way ? haha. there was lunch too! WAHAHA. ate abit. the deep fried salmon cake (cake as in fish cake's cake, not the birthday cake. =p) was super oiishi! had a little fondue too. marshmellows dipped in chocolate. WAHHH. junie was super excited bout the low-fat yogurt. haha. i can't remember what she had. but mine was blueberry, strawberry and oreo. lalala~ so niceeee. anyway, saw a toddler there. super cute! small face, little hair. she was playing with stickers pasted on the seats. wahaha.
after that, we made our way to Bugis Street. chiong shopping again! she was looking for a black dress for our former jc's anniversary dinner. on the way there, we talked bout lots of things. our uni life now, the times we had, the things we want and some gossip. OOPS. glad to hear that she's coping well and doing fine. actually i envy her. her faculty isn't big and she has her closely-knitted group of friends. i think friends are really an important part of our life. friends support each other and can grow together. they play a part in building our characters too. for me.. ah. haii. oh well nvm.
saw alot of things there. but amazingly, i wasn't attracted to many things. maybe it's 'cuz i have been there the last week. saw a dress. i liked it very much. but had to control. bought a dress a week ago. haha. don't want to overload my cupboard with dresses. wanted to buy a top but wasn't fitting enough. haii. we were so thirsty after our first round of shopping. rested at a cafe on level 2. shared a piece carrot cake and had drinks. that's when she told me something unfortunate that happened to her. i think people will be surprised to hear it. hmm. but i wasn't. somehow, i saw it coming. just that, i didn't think it was this soon. mixed feelings. hai. nvm, i wish her all the best! will be there if she needs someone.
ding ding! round 2 start! managed to buy a pair of slippers and junie, a sleeveless top. took a bus to Orchard. JAM! took bout an hour to get there i think, including waiting time. wanted to see the Christmas lightings. contrary to what she thought, i felt that there is a christmas mood. just that, the decorations were not as pretty as previous years. haha. bought accessories before making our way home.
